A wide range of companies are using RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial In User Service) servers for increased security. DPS noticed that many of their clients who uses Voice RTUs had RADIUS servers running on their network. This lead to the creation of the NetGuardian Voice 16 G2 as DPS saw an opportunity to save their clients a lot of time and effort. The NetGuardian Voice 16 G2 has integrated the RADIUS protocol so that login attempts into the NetGuardian is passed to the RADIUS server for enhanced authentication.
The NetDog 82IP (G2) is a small form factor SNMP RTU that can be used for small-site remote alarm monitoring. Because the NetDog 82IP is a SNMP RTU, it can be used to send SNMP traps to practically any SNMP manager, including the Advent SNMP manager. SNMP versions that the NetDog 82IP supports are SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3. Version 3 of the SNMP protocol provides heightened security over the preceding version. Configuring the NetDog 82IP is easy and simple through any generic TTY terminal. Its easy-to-use menus will enable users to quickly set up the NetDog.
SNMP traps can be sent to HP OpenView, a SNMP manager, through the use of the NetGuardian 21. The NetGuardian 21 provides a lot of feature in a design that can be rack mounted, side mounted, or even put into a nook or cranny. All of the connectors on the NetGuardian 21 are located on just one side so that it can be easily wired. Its subcompact and small frame makes it ideal for small-site remote alarm monitoring.
The 66 block is a simple piece of equipment that has found its usage in the important role of connecting two systems together. A sewer treatment and pumping station was able to connect discrete and analog alarms from their water pump and blower to NetGuardian RTUs. This provided the plant with the ability to remotely monitor the alarms points from the water pump and blower. Features that are available from the NetGuardian RTUs can now be utilized by the sewer treatment and pumping station.
If you got some Quantar radios and want to start monitoring them with SNMP, then you've found the right page. Quantar radios can usually output contact closures and not SNMP. Contact closure outputs are useful but does not have the features that can be found with SNMP. SNMP traps are able to provide more details regarding the alarm. The best part of using SNMP would be that because SNMP is so widely used, there will be a multitude of SNMP managers to choose from. You won't have to worry about being stuck with the same alarm manager or be limited to just a certain alarm manager. To be able to convert Quantar radios' contact closure outputs into SNMP, you would need the NetGuardian Q8.
The smaller things are, the more expensive they tend to be. This, however, is not the case with the AlphaMax 82A. The AlphaMax 82A is one of the smallest and least expensive RTUs available from DPS. It has 8 discrete alarms and 2 control as well as an expandable feature set. An alarm that has been triggered can be sent by the AlphaMax through the CDMA Wireless Modem. The CDMA Wireless Modem will is able to send detailed alarm notification to pagers or cellular phones like the BlackBerry. A UPS can also be included with the AlphaMax. In the case of power loss to the site, the UPS can provide up to 1 hour of emergency backup power.
You have a small site that needs to be monitored. You want the features that are found in bigger RTUs. You need the NetGuardian LT. This little RTU report alarms using SNMP which make it compatible practically all SNMP managers. The NetGuardian LT can handle up to 4 discrete alarm inputs and can dial-out to 8 destination per alarm point. As an example, the NetGuardian LT can dial-out to 7 people and 1 SNMP manager. One of its notable features is that it has support for D-Wire sensors. D-Wire sensors can provide the analog alarm monitoring you need for your small site. Because D-Wire sensors can be daisy-chained together, you will be able to monitor multiple analog alarms from just one D-Wire port.
