Space is a Premium in Co-Location Facilities

Throughout the telecommunications industry, the increase of equipment and companies building networks has left co-location sites crowded and in need of more space.

As the amount of available rack space has decreased, many companies have been forced to choose which equipment is most valuable in the co-locate site.

Co-location sites typically limit access to equipment and require reliance on their maintenance staff to maintain and support equipment. Because of the lack of space and the need to have access to network equipment, new independent co-location companies are beginning to arise.

These independent co-location companies are now offering to monitor the environment and the equipment within their facilities as part of the rental package. But many times you are not notified when there is a serious problem. You may not even know if your network has been down for hours.

Waiting for your valuable customers to complain as a means for fault monitoring is not the best customer service solution. DPS alarm monitoring equipment can notify your staff through alpha pages the moment there is a problem. With detailed alarm messages, these alpha pages alert your staff before your customers experience service problems or interruptions.

The NetGuardian meets the challenges faced in co-location facilities. It keeps track of your environmental and equipment alarms, by pinging alarm points and then notifies you when your network is in trouble. It's LCD display and speaker provide local status updates. Other features include dialup and LAN access, alphanumeric paging, e-mail notification of alarms, multiple SNMP managers, 8 analog alarms, 32 ping targets and now web browser access. The NetGuardian occupies 1 rack unit and will mount in both a 19" and a 23" rack.

With valuable customers demanding time on your network and the many options they now have for service providers, using an effective method of alarm notification is a must. Let the NetGuardian be the Dependable Powerful Solution for your network.

Bob Berry
