How To Use Wireless Networks For SNMPv3 Without Wired Transport

Think of all of your sites where you don't have alarm transport. Now think of all the others where you need a redundant alarm-reporting path. What if you could tackle both of those problems without adding costly new infrastructure?

The NetGuardian 832A G5 is a Complete Wireless Monitoring Solution

Most wireless-capable RTUs are low-capacity, and that's really a shame. The NetGuardian 832A G5 is a full-featured remote with generous alarm capacity and functionality. You get an 8-port terminal server, 8 control relays, SNMPv3 support, and 32 alarm points that are expandable to 176.

The NetGuardian 832A G5 with Wireless IP Modem reports alarms (including SNMPv3) over either CDMA or GSM networks...

As an addition to this powerful platform, you get advanced alarm monitoring via wireless (either GSM or CDMA). This provides the critical primary or redundant alarm reporting path you must have to maintain full visibility of your mission-critical remote sites.

Achieve Monitoring Where You Never Could Before

A wireless IP modem is your best friend at sites where you don't have existing transport. You get the alarm monitoring you need - all without spending a dime on expensive infrastructure.

Add a Powerful Alternate Reporting Path at Just About Any Site

Even if you have a LAN connection at a site, a wireless IP modem is an excellent backup during LAN failures. How important are your sites? What would happen if they went down? Shouldn't you protect them with a complete backup reporting system?

Select From 3 Wireless Connection Modes

  1. Permanent: At sites where wireless is your primary reporting path, Permanent Mode keeps an active connection at all times, giving you round-the-clock access to the NetGuardian Web Browser Interface, FTP, and more. SNMP traps and other notifications will also be sent out very quickly.
  2. On-Demand: Similar to Permanent Mode, except that an air link is not established until it is required. This is an excellent option for conserving bandwidth and cost.
  3. Backup: When wireless is used as an alternate reporting path, Backup Mode only activates the NetGuardian's wireless modem when LAN fails.
