T/MonXM Version 3.5

General Features

  • Web Browser Interface - The new web browser interface, which has been tested with Internet Explorer 4.5 and Netscape Navigator 4.0, allows users with a logon password to view alarms through the Intra- or Internet. The interface allows users to perform the basics of alarm management such as viewing and acknowledging alarms, text messages and reports without any additional DPS software.
  • Ping Interrogator - Version 3.5 has the ability to PING IP addresses. This allows the T/MonXM to confirm that servers, routers and IP-based equipment are physically present or can be reached across the network.
  • E-Mail Support - T/MonXM can now notify people through e-mail in much the same way as it did with alpha-paging. This provides a means of keeping people in touch with their alarm status. E-mail notification is ideal for those who want to keep track of alarm occurrences on a weekly basis.
  • Auto Database Transfer - The new Auto Databasing feature allows a database to be sent to another unit on a pre-determined day of the week at a pre-determined time. This helps ensure databases are backed-up and remain in sync.
  • Derived Alarm Template Enhancements and ASCII Displays - Derived alarms are now supported in templates for standard and ASCII alarms. This allows for a convenient way of taking similar sites with multiple errors and grouping them under one site labeled by its severity. The derived template is helpful because it only needs to be defined in one location, instead of having to be defined for each site independently.
  • Import Point Database - Expert T/MonXM users who are maintaining databases on other platforms may now import that data directly into T/MonXM by using the Import Alarm Definitions feature.
  • VT-100 Through Task Cards - Color VT-100 is now directly supported through the task cards.
  • ASCII Scripts - ASCII scripts save the user from performing repetitious commands by building scripts that follow user-defined pattern recognition (Requires ASCII Module).

Remote Support

  • NetGuardian - The NetGuardian is now supported in DCPX and alternate path dial-up configurations. Systems with ASCII modules can also process the alarms coming from ASCII devices connected to the NetGuardian serial ports. Plus, NetGuardian firmware updates can now be downloaded directly over the LAN.
  • Badger Interrogator - Added ability to interrogate a Badger remote model 481, 475 and 433 (Requires Badger Module).

Ethernet Support

  • SNMP Mangers - T/MonXM now supports up to eight SNMP mangers, each manager can report an individual section or an entire database. T/MonXM now allows you to specify the port numbers the traps are sent to for non-standard SNMP implementations (Requires SNMP Module).
  • Standby Mode - It allows multiple IAMs to communicate with multiple NetGuardians via LAN. This is the LAN-equivalent of the master/slave mode operation of the KDAs. Alternate path reporting is also taken into consideration in this mode.
  • TCP ASCII Jobs - TCP ASCII jobs now have a user-configurable receive buffer size. This allows you to better manage your memory resources by allocating additional memory to devices that tend to generate more alarms for more efficient processing. Flow control has also been added to the TCP ASCII jobs.

Paging Enhancements

  • DTMF On-Call - This is a powerful feature that allows people who have been paged to acknowledge the alarm from their cell-phone. In many cases, this quicker response time can prevent unnecessary alarm escalation to other pagers (Requires DTMF box installed on the T/MonXM).
