In a failing legacy monitoring system, the danger usually isn't the remotes - it's the master. The master is a single point of failure, and it has a lot of parts that can go wrong: software that can crash, hard drives that can fail, a database you have to maintain (or perhaps restore from scratch after a hard drive failure). Your legacy master's technology is so old and slow - it's practically a relic. You might be running an impaired system with no spares and no safety net.

Immediately replace your legacy master

If your legacy master is going on the fritz, consider that you can immediately replace it with a T/Mon without moving a single remote unit. With one simple, cost-effective installation, you've immediately brought your network monitoring back from the brink of failure.
