NetGuardian 216 SMS Applications

NetGuardian 216 Applications
The NetGuardian 216 G3 provides exactly the right capacity to manage your small sites. It uses 2 protocols to communicate. It can report your alarms using SNMP over your existing IP network. This can also be done using DCP.

NetGuardian 216 G3 SMS Overview:

The NetGuardian 216 G3 offers an easy, cost-effective way to monitor your small sites over either LAN or CDMA/ GSM modem. The units wireless modem provides flexibility allowing you to report alarms from sites without LAN access or to provide an alternate monitoring path should LAN fail.

The NetGuardian 216 G3 comes with 16 discrete alarm inputs, 2 or 8 analog inputs, and 2 control relay outputs, and the NetGuardian can send up to 8 notifications for each alarm or control operation.

The NetGuardian 216 can also send cellular SMS notifications for alarm or control events as well. You can send SMS alarm alerts directly to your mobile phone or, with the SMS Receiver accessory, forward SMS notifications as SNMP traps to your T/Mon or SNMP master station. This allows you to report alarms over your cellular network without having to pay your carrier or a third party provider for a static IP address or open a hole in your firewall to receive alarms from your cellular RTUs.

You can also monitor your alarms over LAN via the units redesigned web interface, which makes alarm monitoring as easy as opening a web browser.

The NetGuardian 216 G3 reports alarms via SNMP, DCP, DCPf, or DCPx over either UDP or TCP and can be used with your DPS master station or an SNMP manager.
