SNMP: A Way of Life at DPS...

At DPS, SNMP isn’t just a 4 letter acronym, it’s a way of life. We support it in our alarm management platforms, in our remotes, in our Factory Training, in our newsletters, in our informative website, in our ongoing engineering, and (of course) in our popular white papers.

When we announced the NetGuardian 832 G5, we made it clear that this platform had many advantages in architecture, speed and software over its predecessors What we didn’t mention at that time, the platform itself was designed to support new "top boards". The one that I’m most excited about is the new wireless interface, which when combined with the NetGuardian G5 feature set lets you send SNMP V3 traps over either GSM or CDMA from sites that don’t have dedicated transport facility. This means you can now deploy the powerful NetGuardian platform to give enhanced visibility to previously unreachable areas of your network.

This issue also contains must read information for anybody thinking of implementing a SNMP monitoring platform as well as a quick guide to understanding the various versions of SNMP.

Still buying the NetGuardian 832A G2? The G4’s and the recently released G5’s have far more capabilities. Please contact our Sales Department so we can get you your new NetGuardian part number configuration equivalent for your future deployments.

Best Regards,

Eric Storm, President of DPS Telecom
