The WAN RTU is a remote telemetry unit designed to interface directly with a WAN connection. Unlike other remotes that require LAN or dial-up access, a WAN RTU does not require any extra equipment to monitor and report alarms at outside-plant sites. This added functionality provides incredible new freedom when trying to gain crucial visibility of remote network sites.

Here, a WAN RTU is used to monitor a site outside of the existing LAN infrastructure.
